June 30 – Day 30

We made it!  My 8 yr. old daughter and I fulfilled our commitment to a 30 day photo-a-day challenge!  Some days were a lot more fun than others (when you are in the mood, you get a little more creative, perhaps?).

June 28 – Day 28

We went out at dusk looking for some purple flowers that we didn’t realize close up in the evening.  We had so much fun, though.  Our little walk made my daughter uncomfortable because we were “too close to the woods”.  But then, we were distracted by the fireflies, which took us back and forth all over the yard — which then made our cat extremely hyper!

Anyhow, the first image was accidental, but it was my daughter’s pick for the day.

June 3 – Day 3

Mmmmm! Snickersnaps … or … Gingerdoodles …

I found this recipe and pinned it about a year ago (http://buddingbaketress.blogspot.com/2011/12/gingerdoodles-or-snickersnaps.html), however, I did not use the pinned recipes because they called for shortening. We enjoyed them all the same!

June 2 – Day 2

Day 2 of our (my 8 year old daughter and my) 30 day — A Photo A Day Challenge.
Her idea for today was for us to take a picture of a tree and make it Black and White on my computer. I let her choose the black and white settings and contrast that she preferred.

June 1 – Day 1

I’m thinking it is high time that I commit myself to a 30-day photo challenge.  I like to work more “out-of-the-camera” with alternative and experimental processes, so I forget to keep my camera close and to be more spontaneous with it.

Also — my  8 year old daughter has asked me for some time now if she could set up a scene with her Barbies to create a photograph.  Wouldn’t it be a great day to finally grant her wish?  Yes!  Wouldn’t if be fun to let her help me out with my 30-day photo challenge?  Absolutely!  It is going to be very fun brainstorming ideas with her and seeing what we come up with.

I let her decide on the scene she wanted to set.  And as soon as I told her we could go outside with it, she knew exactly what she wanted to do.  Here are the two shots we liked the best.
